The Inter American Defense College Foundation (IADCF) was founded in 2004 as a nonprofit organization under former Inter-American Defense College (IADC) director Carl H. Freeman. The original board of directors consisted of two US citizens, Richard Millett and Emilio Gonzalez, and Venezuelan citizen Salvador Briceno. The IADCF is housed at the IADC site on Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington DC. The Foundation supports the IADC by raising funds to offer supplemental programming at no cost to the IADC. In addition, the IADCF provides information to the international community on what is happening at the College through with the IADC Alumni Association. ==Supporting Hemispheric Security and Defense.== The IADCF provides financial assistance for the development of IADC academic initiatives, in order to provide it with the means of maintaining a degree of excellence amidst its educational programs and operating budget limitations.
